Princess Charlotte headed to school, escorted by Kate Middleton and Prince William

Princess Charlotte spent her first day at school, following in the footsteps of her older brother Prince George. She arrived in Thomas Battersea, south London, with mom and dad Kate Middleton and Prince William, keeping close to the Duchess as she entered the school circuit.
Charlotte will be in a class with 21 other students and will listen to a wide range of subjects, from French and Mandarin to arts, ballet and IT subjects, with a particular focus on music and drama.

Sport is also on the agenda, with all the major sports played by both boys and girls, and options include yoga and golf.

Duchess Kate said her daughter was very excited about her first day at school. Although shy at first, she was quickly overcome by shame as Helen Haslem, the headmistress of the Lower School, reached out to her.

Interestingly, Kate was not able to send her son George to school the first day because she was in an abortive pregnancy with her third child Louis at the time, and at the time suffered from hyperidosis gravidarum - a condition that can cause vomiting up to 50 times a day.
