Former US First Lady Michelle Obama, one of the Grammy Award nominees

Michelle Obama could soon add another award to her locker - the Grammy. The former First Lady of the United States was nominated for a Grammy Award on Wednesday for the Best Audio Book Competition.

She has previously released an audio version of her memoir, originally titled Becoming, CNN reports.

Her main competitors for this award will be John Waters, Eric Alexandrakis, Sekou Andrews, Michael Diamond, and Adam Horovitz.

If she won, this would be the first Grammy for Michelle, but the third in the Obama family. Specifically, former US President Barack Obama has two Grammys in the same category. He won the 2006 and 2008 awards for the audiobooks "Dreams of My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope."

Becoming's memoirs were released in November 2018 and have sold in more than ten million copies by March.
